Developing Business Metrics that Lead to the Right Decisions and Governance

Guest Speaker: Forrest W. Breyfogle III,  CEO and President, Smarter Solutions, Inc.

Current management practices have led to organizational destructive behaviors that are impacting not only their organization but society as a whole. Consider:

  • Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) was created in the United States to address the financial problems created by companies like Enron at the turn of the century; however, SOX did not prevent the financial problems we are currently experiencing.
  • Improvement programs such as TQM, Lean, and Six Sigma may have reported improvements that sound good, but more often than not these improvements are in organizational silos and do not address the overall business constraints so that the business as a whole benefits.
  • The balanced scorecard and red-yellow-green target-based scorecards can fuel firefighting and playing games with the numbers.

Our business management governance system is broken and needs reinvention now!

Developing Business Metrics that Lead to the Right Decisions and Governance will illustrate why the common-place business practice of setting strategic goals, quarterly targets, business unit objectives, quotas, bonuses and incentives for performance can lead to very detrimental behaviors. The presentation also will describe an alternative Integrated Enterprise Excellence (IEE) system which provides the roadmap for moving toward achieving the three Rs of business; i.e., everyone doing the Right things and doing them Right at the Right time.

In this webinar, you will walk through each of the nine IEE business governance management system steps, and hear about a system that provides the framework for healthy policy creation/execution and a no-nonsense integration of:

  • Scorecards
  • Strategic planning
  • Business improvement
  • Control
